Competence-based approach to the creation of a modular professionally oriented textbook English for Legal Profile

Abstract

The article discusses the aspects of creating a modern textbook for lawyers, which is considered as the core of the system of teaching materials essential for mastering a foreign language. The requirements for it are determined by competence approach. A module structure of the textbook
for special purposes is proposed where the uniform structure of each module allows students to learn professional material better and enables the teacher to exercise an effective control over the students’ acquiring communicative skills. The module textbook makes the learning process
systemic, structurally clear-cut and flexible.
