Abstract

Despite the WTO Agreements specifying common responsibilities that are guidelines for the governments in elaborating and implementing national laws and regulations on trade, each country has its specific mechanism regulating access of goods and services to the domestic market. The article deals with a wide range of instruments and mechanisms for regulating foreign economic activities, mainly imports, used in Brazil, India and China. Study of international experiences in this area seems to be the starting point for elaboration of effective mechanisms aimed at protecting
domestic producers under Russia’s membership in the WTO.
