The paper analyzes and reveals certain peculiarities of parallel imports to Russia under sanctions. The suggested algorithm for the needs of Russian importers consists of two important stages: (a) choosing a competent foreign trade operator and (b) finding an intermediary company from a transit country that acts as a buyer of sanctioned goods. The most appropriate jurisdictions for such operations might be Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, UAE, Hong Kong, and Turkey. Using several case-studies (yet, impersonal ones due to confi dential issues) the authors conclude that the overall value of the contract under the parallel import scheme might increase by 12-15%.
