Abstract

The article deals with reasons and aims for the creation of regional trade agreements (RTAs), recent trends and new forms of regionalization process, overviews changes in the structure and content of RTAs. Focuse is made on rapid growth of the overall number of RTAs, increasing share of “deep” RTAs, covering not only trade in goods, but also trade in services and other spheres of economic cooperation, as well as intraregional and cross-continental RTAs, plurilateral RTAs including trade blocks as a party of such RTAs. Also the article introduces category of globalizing regionalism as a new factor of world trade policy.
