Abstract

The authors note that effective and fair competition is the key to increase the competitiveness of the EAEU countries. The improvement of competition policy should be carried out both at the national and regional levels. The article analyzes the EAEU regulations, the scope of functions of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the national competition law of the EAEU member countries. As a result, the authors identify inconsistencies with the main OECD recommendations and standards. The authors give recommendations that aim to develop competition in the EAEU, increase the efficiency of the Eurasian Economic Commission regarding the process of monitoring cross-border mergers and fighting cartels, etc.
