The article explores the possibility of additional use of current and future infrastructure projects of Russia abroad to develop bilateral trade with the country-importer of construction services. The author examines Russia’s current infrastructure projects abroad on the example of Akkuyu NPP and identifies omissions in the utilization of the infrastructure under construction on the example of Vostochny Port in Turkey. Next, the current model of U.S. investment in infrastructure abroad is analyzed using the example of relations with Bangladesh, and its advantages are identified. The necessary steps for obtaining “double benefit” from the construction of infrastructure by Russia abroad are identified, the omissions in the current model of implementation are revealed, and recommendations for evaluating such an opportunity within the framework of the federal project “International Cooperation and Export” are given.
