Abstract

As of today, logistics of Russia’s foreign trade at large and its seaborne containerized segment in particular have generally overcome sanctions imposed by the West. Indeed, its structural transformation is on the way and is not an easy task. From the operational perspective the process is quite straightforward: turnover of Russian ports has levelled and new carriers (both from friendly states and of Russian origin) have entered the market. However, profi ciency of national foreign trade companies in terms of transport and logistics is still lagging behind. Th us, the authors neatly highlight the problem with several linear shipping cases that took place in 2023-2024, i.e. that with general average announced near the port of Saint-Petersburg.
