Abstract

The authors consider the essence of globalization in the world economy, its main characteristics and the history of its evolution. The theoretical foundations of globalization are analyzed and the complexity of the dynamics of this process depending on its main three elements (economic, political and social) is proved. The dependence of the index of globalization, as the primary measurement tool, on economic globalization indicators is shown. The authors examine the impact of globalization on economic growth and on social and political processes in the society. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the negative aspects of globalization caused in recent years, in particular the influence of political forces. Despite the emergence and manifestation of dialectical contradictions in the development of globalization, the authors make a conclusion about its objective nature noting Russia’s commitment to international cooperation.
