Abstract

The nature of world key commodity markets, most obviously of petroleum market, has substantially changed over the last decades. The essence of these changes lays in much stronger interrelations between commodity and fi nancial markets, increasing role of financial factors in pricing on petroleum and other strategic raw materials markets. The article deals with reasons and consequences of the above changes, underlines prospects of international regulation in this area.
