The two main roles of transport in the world economy and international trade transport support of foreign trade and economic activities and exports of transport services are considered in the article. Key indicators of global and Russia’s exports of transport services are determined. Substantial and regulatory evolution of the forms and methods of transport services exports, including various methods of services delivery in GATS rules is examined. Features of transport services exports by sea freight are identifi ed. Conditions and directions of development of transport services exports in Russia are revealed. Conditions and opportunities for attracting Russian transportation companies by domestic exporters and importers to deliver foreign trade freights are considered. Possible interests of national carriers in cross-border shipping, transit deliveries and in establishing business presence abroad are determined.
