Abstract

The article discusses the issues and problems of structural reform of Russian railways. The restructuring and privatization of the national railways is evaluated through the prism of similar processes occurring in North America, the European Union and the countries of the Customs Union. Th e basic models of the structural reforms of rail transport abroad are given. The authors analyze the international experience with the restructuring and privatization of the national railways and assess some of the results of structural reforms of Russian railways.
