This article analyzes the changes in foreign trade of India and Central Asia over the past five years, favorable conditions and prospects for the development of economic and trade cooperation between the two global economic players. The economic relations between India and the Central Asian Republics have great chances to reach a qualitatively new level of development, which is primarily due to the infrastructure development initiated by India. The growth of trade with Central Asia in the coming years will largely depend on global prices for raw materials, as well as on the success of the development of oil fields in Kazakhstan and the degree of implementation of the uranium ore supply agreement. Despite the difficulties in forecasting further development of trade between India and the Central Asian region, it is obvious that India will not miss the opportunity to compete with Russia and China for influence in the region.
