Abstract

The article considers the competitiveness of a tourist destination in the modern conditions of globalization, and highlights the main elements that influence it and could become a competitive advantage for a particular destination in future. It is revealed that the level of competitiveness is strongly related to national and regional tourism strategies, as well as to each component of the tourism market, which, in turn, are combined with programs and concepts of sustainable development. The article shows that a tourist destination cannot be competitive in the absence of competitive tourist enterprises. At the same time, the tourist business cannot be competitive in an unattractive tourist destination.
