Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the transformation of Pakistani external trade, its main trends and prospects. The article deals with the most important way of Pakistan’s integration into the world economy – its participation in international trade as well as its participation in global value chains. The article highlights the Indian role in international trade of goods and services. The author examines the composition of Pakistani exports and imports as well as trade directions. The author draws attention to Pakistan’s growing role in trade in ready-made garments, thus proving the country’s active participation in global value chains. The article also presents the statistical data on Pakistani external trade trends.
