Abstract

In the article the author analyzes the development of Russia’s foreign trade for the last five years. It is stated that, in value terms, the exports of services and imports of goods and services steadily grew during the first four years of the period in question, the exports of goods also rose during three years, but in 2014 both exports and imports again reduced in comparison with the previous year as was the case five years ago. The structure of Russia’s exports and imports of goods did not change radically during the previous years. Mineral products, metals and fertilizers continue to be the main items of exports, and as for imports they are foodstuffs, chemical and heavy engineering goods. Special attention is paid to the present situation when drop in oil prices, sinking of the home economics into recession and the war of sanctions with the western countries impaired substantially conditions of the foreign trade activities. Hence, its prospects are estimated as very modest.
