Abstract

The article considers the main issues and prospects for development of the world energy market. The main causes of the current energy market changes are analyzed. The author outlines the key factors impeding immediate energy transition. The most important elements of the Russian energy strategy in terms of international competitiveness are suggested and analyzed. The possible effects of shale gas revolution are also described.
