Features of the current foreign economic policy in Hungary

Abstract

The article considers in detail the features of the current foreign economic policy in Hungary. The author analyzes the factors that have influenced the foreign economic policy over the past decade and caused the shift towards intensification of relations with eastern partners, in particular China and Russia. The author also evaluates the effects of Hungary’s accession to the European Union and its impact on the economy of the country. Agriculture and metallurgy are the most affected sectors. Special attention is paid to the state and prospects for Russia-Hungary foreign economic relations. As an example the author considers active cooperation in the most important to both countries industry, nuclear power industry.
