Prospects for EAS - Russia cooperation in nuclear energy

Russia is a full-fl edged member of the East Asia Summit (EAS). Having competitive advantages in the fi eld of nuclear energy, Russia can meet the growing demand of the EAS member countries for new nuclear programs and become a stable supplier of natural uranium in order to strengthen Russia’s role and position in the Asia-Pacifi c region. Russia is beyond competition in the area of handling spent nuclear fuel. Th e article outlines the prospects for mutually advantageous cooperation in the fi eld of nuclear energy with the EAS member countries.
