Abstract

The article overviews the important aspects of the family business: the role of the family companies in Western economies, the advantages of family business, perspectives and barriers to the development of family business in Russia. It summarizes the results of two empirical investigations, based on the interviews with representatives of large, medium and small Russian business who implement the concept of family entrepreneurship. The results of the study revealed the main problems, connected with business development and succession, inheritance and preparation of successors to the company management.
