The article covers the main stages of integration processes in the CIS area since its formation. The authors analyze the specific characteristics of preferential trade agreements (PTAs) in the CIS. An exhaustive list of expired and currently effective PTAs in the CIS area, taking into account the initial levels of exemptions and the dynamics of their cancellations is presented. The economic aspects of PTAs are qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed.
