Abstract

The modern stage of the development of international economic relations is associated with the rapid extension of scientific and technological exchanges. Despite the economic crisis the world’s knowledge base is expanding: the growth pace of the number of patent applications is increasing in developing and developed countries likewise. The volume of the world trade in Intellectual Property assets is growing. The article presents the comparative analysis of the key performance indicators of intellectual activities in the world in general and in the Russian Federation, together with the conclusions on the possibilities and opportunities for the realization of the innovative development strategy in Russia.
