Abstract

The paper analyzes the existing practices of the English courts regarding classification of international sales contracts concluded on CIF and FOB terms. The key differences between CIF and FOB contracts are considered. The analysis revealed the existence of several types of contracts concluded on CIF terms as well as concluded on FOB terms. It is emphasized that such a classification does not contradict the INCOTERMS.
