Abstract

The article analyses trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The development of the region over the past 50 years, in particular the changes in the key economic indicators, was considered. The following four major partners of Russia in the region were singled out: China, Japan, South Korea. The prospects for trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region in terms of contracts for energy resources were identified. The key challenges to the successful economic cooperation were shown and the measures to address them were proposed.
