Brazilian Experience in Agricultural Development: Opportunities and Limitations for Russia

Abstract

The article examines the main factors and mechanisms that ensured Brazil’s breakthrough in the agrifood sector, and also assesses the possibilities of adapting Brazilian experience to improve the efficiency of agricultural development in Russia. Based on recent statistical data, a comparative analysis of the key macroeconomic indicators of Brazil and Russia has been carried out, with an
emphasis on key agricultural parameters, in order to identify current trends. Special attention is paid to the issues of innovation management and diversification of support instruments for the agricultural sector in Brazil. An assessment of the applicability of Brazil’s best agricultural practices in Russia is presented in tabular form, utilizing a symbolic indicator system.
