Abstract

Despite global challenges and geopolitical tensions, including wars, international tourism continues to demonstrate growth. Global revenue from international tourism amounted to USD 1,4 trillion in 2024. The sector is expanding into new territories, including previously untapped regions that require the development of tourism infrastructure. The proposed tourism flow centroid method presented in this study allows for the identification of optimal locations for new resorts and tourism infrastructure, provided that potential tourist demand for such destinations and key source markets are known. This method proves particularly valuable in analyzing the territorial aspects of international tourism.
