The second decade of the 21st century marked a new stage in the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies. The countries leading today in the development and implementation of these technologies will signifycantly increase their competitiveness in the medium term, while the lagging countries risk not being able to join qualitatively new global value chains. With this in mind, in the past two years many countries around the world have developed their own strategies in the field of AI.
The package of laws and bills aimed at regulating the digital market of the EU forms a paradigm for the subsequent development of artificial intelligence technologies. In a quest to create favourable conditions for technological development in Europe, the EU could harm the existing competitive environment and, due to the Brussels eff ect, change the trajectory of the digital transformation in the world.
