The article examines Russia’s interests in high technology, which could be advanced through cooperation with “friendly countries” within BRICS amid the emergence of a multipolar world order. The scientific hypothesis is based on the need to apply the cross-sectoral approach to the development of the domestic high-tech sector and international market positioning of such products. The analysis of the role of the BRICS bloc in the international economy and trade confirms its significant influence and the growth potential of its markets. The presence on these markets could enable Russia to scale up domestic production and advance toward technological leadership – one of Russia’s national goals.
