Abstract

Using the example of the digital rouble, this article examines the functions, characteristics and prospects for a new type of payment being introduced into the domestic payment landscape. The purpose of the study is to analyze the key advantages of the digital rouble and the constraints to its implementation. The author examines legislative changes in the field of digital national currencies, presents predictive scenarios for the introduction of the digital rouble. The results of the study allow to systematize the capabilities of this financial instrument necessary for all participants in market relations, from ordinary users to business representatives.
