Abstract

The article presents a theoretical analysis of the motives for foreign direct investment, as well as factors that can lead to increased investment processes between countries. The dynamics of mutual investment flows between Russia and Vietnam for the period 2012-2023 and the factors of their development are considered. The substantiation of the prospects for investment cooperation between the Russian Federation and Vietnam in the field of high-tech industries is given. Promising high–tech sectors of Vietnam's industrial sector are also being specified, from the point of view of applying foreign direct investment from Russia - this is the shipbuilding and ship repair industry.
