The experience of the MERCOSUR countries in shaping the agenda for the development of the digital economy and trade is of particular interest for research: on the one hand, in view of the historically high level of non–tariff protection of domestic markets, on the other hand, in view of the potential for digital integration of the customs union. The paper is aimed to summarize the integration experience of MERCOSUR in the field of regulation of international trade in the context of digitalization. The author examines the features of the formation of the customs union digital agenda and provides a description of the regulatory environment in the field of digital trade in its member-countries.
