The experience of the MERCOSUR countries in shaping the agenda of the digital economy and trade is of particular interest for research: on the one hand, in view of the historically high level of non–tariff protection of domestic markets, on the other hand, due to the potential of digital integration within the customs union. The paper aims to summarize the integration experience of MERCOSUR in regulation of international trade under digitalization. The author examines the features of the customs union’s digital agenda and outlines the regulatory framework for digital trade of its member-countries.
