Abstract

Russia and Egypt are strategic partners whose cooperation has been developing for many years and has had a different character. Being States with different historical and cultural origins, they were eventually able to find common ground and establish such relations within which the interests of each of the countries could be satisfied as effectively as possible. Egypt did not join the anti-Russian sanctions of the West, which led to a high level of Russian–Egyptian business cooperation in 2022-2023, which was accompanied, among other things, by the implementation of further cooperation between the parties already within the framework of joint associations. All this, coupled with the current geopolitical situation, suggests that there are significant prospects for further deepening and development of cooperation ties between Russia and Egypt. In the article, the authors consider in detail the stages of the gradual formation of Russian-Egyptian relations and their lessons, the expansion of the spheres of joint activity of Russia and Egypt, as well as the potential for their further development.
