Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify changes in the commodity structure of Russian exports in recent years, as well as suggest approaches to measuring and assessing the export competitiveness of the Russian regions. Using statistics on manufactured exports of varying degrees of processing, the export competitiveness index is calculated and estimations of its three composite indicators for the period of 2013–2019 are given. As a result, the article identifies the areas for government policy improvement regarding Russian manufactured exports growth in terms of its higher sophistication.
