Abstract

In the paper, the authors analyze foreign trade of the Sverdlovsk region - its volumes, dynamics, commodity and geographic structure by basic export articles. The regional export development trends and their distinctive features are revealed. Types of basic export participants by their size and presence in the world and Russian markets, as well as by their potential for growth, are suggested. Impediments to the growth of exports are outlined, in particular for innovative exportoriented small and medium-sized enterprises, including potential exporters. The instruments fostering export promotion are highlighted and the first results of implementation of the non-raw export support measures are presented.
