Abstract

The article analyzes the current state of the trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Vietnam. It is noted that Russia’s foreign direct investment in Vietnam is significantly less than in other countries, and projects are carried out mainly in the energy sector. The signing of the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam stimulated the increase in Russian-Vietnamese trade, but mainly due to the growth of imports from Vietnam. At the same time, Vietnam’s supplies of machinery products, textiles and footwear to Russia increased, and the Russian export pattern to Vietnam has hardly changed. It is concluded that Vietnam has benefited a lot more than Russia from the agreement.
