Abstract

The article highlights current issues of the development of economic cooperation between the BRICS countries and existing problems in this area. Particular attention is paid to the prospects of investment cooperation and the expansion of mutual settlements in national currencies. Specific recommendations are given on the conclusion of a preferential investment agreement, as well as on the creation of an international settlement bank for small and medium-sized businesses of the BRICS countries. It is proposed to include these initiatives in the agenda of the BRICS 2020 summit in Chelyabinsk.
