Abstract

The authors consider the general theoretical aspects of regional export specialization of individual countries in the world economy; in particular, assess the justification of regional specialization based on the provisions of the American economist Paul Krugman. The article analyzes the participation of the most important industries of certain regions on the basis of comparative competitive advantages formation, particularly the southern regions of Italy, in the international division of labour. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of export specialization of the Republic of Crimea, which recently re re-became became part of Russia.
