Abstract

The article considers the sequence of significant events and statistical data on the effects of the Ukrainian crisis on the Russian economy, as well as retaliatory measures against the countries that have introduced sanctions against Russia. The author reveals the necessity of expanding the production base, as opposed to exports of natural resources, developing advanced technologies in the country, finding new markets for finished products and developing the agricultural sector of the country.
