Abstract

The current world economic system is characterized by increasing intellectualization of international economic relations. This phenomenon is most clearly evidenced by the international movement of intellectual property (hereinafter “IP”), which received a new impetus during the COVID-19 pandemic. The global IP system deserves special attention as it implies the existence of an incentive mechanism for the transfer of IP rights (primarily patents as extremely important objects in the field of pharmaceuticals and healthcare) that could solve the most acute problems caused by the pandemic COVID-19. In this regard, the key issue is what measures are being taken to successfully overcome the global health crisis, what they are based on and how effective they are.
