Abstract

The paper draws attention to the fact that dynamics of world development will be determined not least of all by the growth of world trade. Its perspectives will be contingent on future changes in the trade system. But at the present moment the WTO negotiations on trade liberalization (the Doha round) hit a deadlock in spite of regular pledges of G20 aimed at bringing them to a successful conclusion.
