Abstract

ASEAN countries extensively trade with many countries around the world. China, the USA, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Australia, a number of European countries and others have been their major trade partners for a long period of time. Russia still lags far behind the aforementioned countries in terms of trade turnover with ASEAN. With the adoption of the “Pivot to the East” strategy, as well as other strategic goals, Russia needs to enhance trade cooperation with the ASEAN countries. The article analyzes the trade flows between Russia and the ASEAN countries from 2017 to 2020. Conclusions about the prospects for their trade cooperation are presented.
