Abstract

The most objective method of assessing the economic potential and the level of economic development of any country is the conversion of its major aggregates (GDP or GNI) into one base currency based on purchasing power parity. For this purpose, surveys on relative price levels of the basic basket of goods and services are carried out in various countries and regions within the framework of the International Comparison Programme. The article highlights the results of Kazakhstan’s participation in this program.
