Abstract

The Space Protocol to the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment is the first international space treaty governing commercial space activities. The Convention and the Protocol create investor-friendly environment in space industry by providing international recognition of investors’ rights related to space assets. This article assesses the main provisions of the documents and highlights the reasons for a negative attitude toward the Protocol of the key space business leaders.
