The East African tea auction: transaction procedure

Abstract

One of the methods widely used in international trade is international commodity auctions. In each case the procedure of their conduct is set by their organizers. Therefore despite some similarity each auction has its own specific features. The article deals with the history and trading procedure at one of the biggest tea auctions of the world - The East African tea auction that is officially named The East African Tea Trading Association. About 10% of Russian imports of this commodity come from the auction.
