Some aspects of cooperation between Russia and the United States at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The article discusses some aspects of cooperation between Russia and the United States at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which cooperates with Russia since 1991. The U.S. is one of the largest shareholders of the Bank and has a representative on the board of directors of the Bank. Russia and the U.S. as key participants of the Bank have a number of common positions concerning the Bank's functions, its cautious geographic expansion, conversion of the Bank’s statutory documents, etc. At the same time, the positions of Russia and the U.S. differ on a number of issues in linking the offering of financial aid to potential CIS recipients to their resolution of political issues; this creates certain tension for Russia in its relationships with its partners in the region.
