Abstract

This article examines the interaction of two major trends in the modern world economy - globalization and integration. Regional integration, or regionalization is the lead trend of recent decades. Particular attention is given to the regional integration in the Asia-Pacific region, which is gradually shifting the center of the world economy. The integration processes in the Asia-Pacific region have a direct bearing on the Russian Federation, which is a part of the geopolitical region. Russia is bound to pursue a consistent strategy to enhance cooperation with regional groupings in the Asia-Pacific region as well as its consistent participation in different formats of interaction in the region is required.
