Abstract

The article gives the investigation of the evolution both of classical and modern theories of the international trade and the analysis of these theories. The essence of the new approach to the question of the competitiveness of one of the prevalent modern theories about the international trade developed by M. Porter is considered. The criticism of this theory is given. The article shows the current actuality of a number of tenets of the researched international trade theories for the Russian economy. The article is useful for scientists and practitioners in the field of foreign economic relations, students, post-graduates as well as for lecturers of higher education institutes of economy.
