Abstract

The article is devoted to the current trends of the development of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, to the analysis of the grounds for the changes of mergers and acquisitions activity of companies.

Transactions of Russian companies acting as buyers or sellers are examined. Beneficial and adverse effect of mergers and acquisitions on the Russian economy is defined. It also provides for options of increasing the influence of such transactions on the structural transformation of the Russian economy.
