The article examines the need to improve non-tariff regulation of imports in the EAEU. The need is caused by increased protectionism and sanctions confrontation. Under these conditions, the improvement of trade regulation mechanisms seems to be an urgent issue for achieving foreign economic integration goals. The necessity of introducing an improvement mechanism is substantiated and its key components are determined. The purpose of the mechanism is to achieve a balanced approach to the regulation of non-tariff measures in respect of EAEU imports. The elements of the mechanism are considered; its tasks, functions and effects are highlighted. The opportunity to improve imports is assessed: to improve the safety and quality of imported goods; to reduce the existing number of barriers and obstacles that may affect the volume and quality of imports to the EAEU.
