Features of the current foreign economic policy of Hungary

Abstract

The article considers in detail the features of Hungary’s current foreign economic policy. The author analyzes the factors that caused changes in the foreign economic policy in the past decade, in particular its shift towards intensification of relations with eastern partners, primarily China and Russia. The author also evaluates the impact of Hungary’s joining the European Union and its effects on the economy of the country. The most affected sectors are agriculture and metallurgy. Besides, the state and prospects for Russia-Hungary economic relations are analyzed. As an example the author considers robust cooperation in the most important industry for both countries - nuclear power.
